... or does it only happen on Oprah and those shows where they remodel someone's house, and when they see it they scream "Oh my God!!" and cry like little babies?
Dear woohozit. I was referring to cases where the people don't have any real problems. E.g. "My house is very dull and I would like to make it look a bit nicer." In comes some guy, paints the walls and people cry. What's wrong with just saying "That looks great. Thanks"

If you're going to judge Americans by what you see on TV you're a fool.
Most of us are too busy working to watch the phony bologna hype on the telly.

I am not a sissy. If I see a child in a wheelchair get their home redone? well Yep I might cry because I am touched it's called having a heart, you should try it!

I'm a sensetive caring person so I cry about almost anything. Can't help it.

Don't know,as programs like Oprah are a waste of human life, and therefore I don't watch them-I mean, the woman promotes "The Secret" drivel on her show, for God's sake! What a waste of time & energy!

Yeah I know, I hate that when it's not something big. I don't like tears of joy that much, they're still tears and they make me sad. I don't want to watch a remodeling show for the emotional impact.
I remember one episode of Extreme makeover, they made over a comedian and the guy LAUGHED with clear joy and I thought, man, now THIS makes me feel good about make overs.
Maybe it's in the contract that they have to cry?
