digital studio-master which spoils it? I am often listening to MP3s but I am considering to buy a decent turntable to enjoy a full range of sound.
 
Like anything else, vinyl can suffer from poor mastering, but in general vinyl won't suffer as much from overmastering due to the limitations of the medium itself.

"Audiophile" is such a subjective term... across the board it certainly doesn't apply to MP3 in any way shape or form, but many will consider CDs acceptable, albeit not when they're victims in the loudness war. You don't have to go all the way to vinyl to get a good sound.
