are beta fish better than goldfish to keep as pets?

A betta only needs 5 gallons, a heater and a filter. Goldfish are pretty high maintence and they need either 20 or 75 gallons
 
as long as you only have one in a bowl. they will kill each other if they are together
 
my goldfish looks like it is about to die are beta fish better to keep as pets than goldfish
 
ABSOLUTELY... they don't require as much work BUT they don't swim around much no matter what and thus i believe it is more pleasureable to keep a goldfish over a betta
