Are Blackberry Pearls good phones?

I think I'll use a Blackberry for normal use, like calling, texting, and checking e-mails, but is the Blackberry any good? What should I know about getting a "Smart phone" before making a decision?
 
I have a blackberry pearl and its a good phone. If you purchase one be prepared to buy the plans such as unlimited internet access, email packages, and texting packages. The prices vary based on how many you want a month. Sometimes my sim card and memory card move around because the back sliding door is so fragile and thin....so a case is very helpful also. Smart phones are a little different because they operate windows...a blackberry pearl doesn't...
