Are Blu-ray discs really better in quality than Standard DVDs when played on the

same Blu-Ray Player? I just bought an HDTV, a PS3 and I bought the movie 300 on Blu-Ray, even though I already owned it on Standard DVD. I was told that watching it on BluRay would be way better than DVD. So I decided to compare them. I watched the same fight scene first on the BluRay in my PS3 and then on the DVD in my PS3...I must say that the quality looks the same to me. I did not see any difference.
I know that BluRay players upscale your standard DVDs to look better but aren't BluRay discs supposed to be better quality? Especially when they charge you nearly $30 per movie?
Has anyone else noticed this? Has anyone compared the discs on the same Blu-Ray Player?

Yes because it's like HD channels the only look better on HDTV because my mom has a Visio TV and we don't have HD channels so it doesn't look good.So blu-ray disks look better on blu-ray DVD player.not standard.
