Are Bluetooth mice better than USB receiver mice?

In terms of accuracy, most importantly. I like Bluetooth mice as I don't have to use a USB port. Are Bluetooth mice really worth the extra cost. What's your take on the wireless laser mouse 8000 and the 5000 from microsoft? Are thwy compatible with Macs?

bluetooth is just another wireless standard

i actually have the MS 8000 mouse .. i love it honestly .. very accurate .. it still has a USB dongle though .. the USB dongle is the bluetooth receiver .. my laptop has bluetooth, but the mouse still requires the dongel to function ..

acurracy does, however, have nothing to do with being bluetooth or USB .. it has to do with with the technology used (optical, laser, etc)

laser mice are more accurate than optical mice .. they use 2 totally different technologies to produce the same effect .. in essence (not quite accurate but easy to understand) think of optical mice as using a grid to track mouse movements .. think of a laser mouse as using the same grid, but tighter -- with more lines creating the same size grid ..

either way .. you're still going to need a USB port ..
