are BMW's dependable cars?

are 2002-2004 bmw 325i and 330i, with 55,000-80,000miles. good dependable cars? do they break down alot, are they expensive to fix? and lastly how long will they last?
 
Trust me, BMW's are great cars, and very easy to maintain. My dad has a BMW, and he has had it for a while, and it runs great. However, the price tag on BMW's can run a little high if you go for a good one, so you might want to factor that into your decision.
 
Their overall reliability is listed as average. In the 04 model, problem areas are fuel system, body hardware, and audio system. From everything I hear, their durability is good, but they're pricey to repair.
 
They are dependable alright. My dad's one has not broke down yet and he got it 4 years ago. They should last a good 10-15 years depending on how long you use them!
