...their host family? My family is considering hosting a foreign exchange student, but we travel a lot. Next year is when we would host a foreign student, but also that year for spring break we are most likely going to go on a 7 night cruise to the Western Caribbean. Would foreign exchange student programs be very against this?
 
Depending on the organization you are hosting from but for the most part yes it is allowed for exchange students to travel to different countries with their host family actually it the only way they are allowed to travel to other countries with the host family or with a organization volunteer.
