Are fundamentalist christians and muslims fundamentally the same?

From what I gather both extremist groups are against evolution, gays, and want women to stay at home, what surprises me is that they are at war with each other. Should they not join forces and turn our society back to the middle ages?
 
Christians believe in love,peace and forgiveness.Muslims practice hate,terrorism and retaliation.
 
They can't join forces.

If they joined forces, they would have to compromise, and that's not an option. I'm not being a jerk or anything, but it's true. If they did, the result would be like a cross between the two religions and we would KNOW that would be a false religion.

Besides, they're fundamentalists. Why would they come to a peaceful solution (with each other)?
