I mean, without followers the alarmists really have no one else to scare. What is going to happen to them? Will they need a stimulus bill to help them get new jobs because if people stop being scared of global warming they (the alarmists) will have nothing to do? Maybe a telethon would be better. Let me know your thoughts......
 
From the point of view of a scientist, it is alarming. However, two-thirds 'worry a fair amount' or 'worry a great deal'.

Scientists tell us that it is a threat that will probably need political action to minimise damage to humanity. Hopefully 66% will be enough to get that change.
 
To quite from your own link, the first line in fact
"While 61% of Americans say the effects of global warming have already begun".
American interest in this seems to be seasonal from winter to summer.
