Are there android apps currently avaliable for HDMI?

I have a sprint Evo 4G, I was told by a agent that in order for me to use HDMI I need to buy the hotspot for $29.99 to use the HDMI, can someone tell me if there are other ways for me to connect to the web via Evo, using Wifi from my PC? Or any app that will allow mirroring phone to TV? Thanks
