Are there any cheap mods that i can do to my car for a nicer & safer ride?

I have a 1998 Mercury Sable and would like to improve how my suspension handles bumps and how my brakes work, mainly in the rain. I'm only looking to spend about $150 for better brakes or rotors. And about $100 or so for better shock absorbers or whatever I need. Also, will a strut tower bar help the stability of the car? Do they even make any for my car? Please helpM I'd greatly appreciate prices and websites where I can find these parts. Thank you.

um no offense but since ur car is 10 years old just replacing the stock shocks/springs will probably fix ur problems with ur ride.......and also bad shocks/springs can effect ru braking ........and b4 u go out and buy slotted rotors and larger calipers......try flushing the system and maybe replacing the hoses and then filling it with synthetic brake fluid......
