Are there really noticeable differences between the itouch 2g and the itouch 3g?

I'm 16 and I want to save up for my own itouch since I feel bad for wasting more of my parents' money (even though it's almost Christmas) since they bought me a laptop already. The 4g is out of the question because I feel that if I try to save up for anything more than $200, it'll take me a year to save up for it. I just want to know if I should go for the 2g because it's a lot cheaper or the 3g?

It's not huge, but it's noticeable. The big difference is between them and the 4g. I think it's worth it to save up, plus just money you get for Christmas. I upgraded cause I lost my old iPod (pissed me off so much) and it is so much faster, the cameras are cool and mic, and the screen looks a lot better.

The third generation has a faster processor (so apps run a little smoother) and has built-in voice control/recorder (which is pretty damn neat). If you're more concerned about music than anything else, I don't see why you'd need a third or fourth generation as a second generation works just as great in that department. I have a second generation that I'm sure I'll upgrade eventually, but my regular, ol' cheap iPod has been more bang for my buck.
