No. Most of the Tracfones do what they were designed to do. Make and receive phone calls. Tracfone does not offer top of the line cell phones. They offer phones that are affordable. I have used Tracfone or Net10 for 10+ years. I have had very few issues with the phones themselves.
If you want to get a Tracfone just read some reviews about the specific phone you want to purchase before you purchase it. Because just like other cell phone companies they will invest in a phone with some performance issues.
I think that some of the Tracfones are comparable to what you would be purchasing if you were to get a basic phone with a contract company. Most of the Tracfones are just modified phones that other providers used for their service.
