Remember when people were blissfully denying that the recent increase in gas prices was abnormal, and pointing out that, hey, if cars ran on milk, we'd be paying even more?

Are we allowed to complain now that oil prices have hit an "all-time high"? And are we allowed to say that we should do something about it? Or are we still to live in a fantasy world where cars can run on dairy products?
I didn't say I wasn't blaming OPEC. I simply asked if I'm allowed to complain about it without being attacked.
JeffH: I don't buy organic milk, and if you could show me a picture of my SUV, I'd love to see it. Thanks.
dead man: Great plan. How do you propose I keep my job in the meantime, since there is no way for me to get here other than by car?

Yeah, it's awful! I can't believe how much we're paying for gas these days. What the heck is going on? Plus, food prices are rising now too! Grain and rice is skyrocketing. Falling dollar, raising prices on food and gas, high interest rates on everything, plus mortgage meltdowns have put a huge strain on the American people.

Complain if you want. Not sure it will do you a lot of good to complain, but go ahead.

I worry that everything is going to be going up because all commodity prices are rising compared to the declining value of the dollar, and they are all prone to the same type of market speculation that takes advantage of leveraging declining dollar-based assets by taking out positions on commodity indexes.

I worry about that because inflation will have the effect of wiping out the savings of the people who were conservative and who did the responsible thing and saved, and inflation is a tough thing to get rid of once it takes hold in an economy. People start expecting things to become more expensive, and they adjust their habbits accordingly, and the only way to stop it then is to jack up interest rates to the point where they cannot afford to buy on credit anymore.

You're allowed to complain about anything you want. I just find it humorous when people blame the President for the price of gas.

You obviously don't keep up with the price of milk. Certified organic milk is about twice the price of a gallon of gas.

And sure, you can complain about the price of a gallon. As long as you keep filling up your SUV at the pump that is...

The American people refuse to band together and sacrifice. The Teamsters refuse to strike and shut down the economy. Gas will continue to rise until WE the AMERICAN people stop going to the pumps.

All prices for goods will go up because of oil - When we stop buying gasoline and band together as we did in 1776 we will continue to be screwed at the pumps.

complaining about the issue will not solve the issue. Making a stand will send a message.
