We had a similar issue in my highschool regarding ethnicity. No one would ever get in fights with anyone of a different ethnicity because it happened once for reasons unrelated to race and the kid pulled the hate crime card.

That's a property of certain degree courses, but not of university level education as a whole.

There's actually a growing trend for foreign born Indians to move back to India, because that is where the opportunities are.

Not to mention that they in general maintain very strong ties to their culture and country (no matter how inferior Vampyregirl deems it to be)... the same can't really be said for most Irish immigrants (at least in the US anyhow) who aside from the St. Patrick's day piss up don't really have all that much connection to Ireland or it's culture. It's almost two ends of the spectrum to compare the two.

I have a degree, and it is practical! Well, it's a piece of paper that lets me go learn how to do the job I want, a lot of what it took to get the paper isn't strictly relevant to the job any more...

However, I think if a man maims or kills his ex for wanting to leave him, then has three more relationships where he exhibits no behaviours in a similar vein, I would be inclined to agree with your distinction.

But to my eyes men who inflict domestic violence are misogynists, plain and simple, though it may not fit academic notions of misogyny. Of course YMMV.
