It's not so simple that there are only 4 possible outcomes.

I study economics and it helps to keep in mind that the powers that make the economy go down are the same powers that make it go back up after.

It's happened time and again throughout history, and the economy always comes back up to be stronger than it was previously.
 
We are headed for one of the following, I simple do not see any way around it:

1. Socialism/communist/fascist government rule
2. Great Depression II
3. Hyperinflationary depression much worse than the Great Depression
4. Complete collapse of US, with the US breaking apart
Brown9500v1 - I agree with you the only way out of this mess is if we get some kind of technological innovation. Lets pray.
 
I actually can't see any of those happening. Could you possibly explain how any of those come about, while keeping a tight grip on reality?
