"I the Lord, the God of Israel, warn you not to let yourselves he deceived by the prophets who live among you or by any others who claim they can predict the future"
~ God

Even consulting one who claims to predict the future, is punishable in the bible. So why are we permitting these witches to live?
I count Global Warming prophecies too.
Especially the ones that we had in the 80's that said we were heading for an ice age.

They are using cloud formations and stuff to predict weather. They aren't predicting things contrary to God. That is what is meant there. Notice the bible doesn't condone the poor treatment of Isaih and Jeremiah (both prophets).

I guess I'm damned for choosing the numbers on my lottery ticket then :D

If I tell you that I predict that it will get dark tonight, and you listen, are we both going to hell?

It's snowing in Chicago. Is it reasonable to say that someone is going to slip and fall in Chicago? Forecasting and prophecying are different things. Weathermen are not prophets. They interpret weather data and patterns and make predictions. They are NOT receiving messages from a "spiritual" power.

GOD bless

analyzing the past and present to make predictions about the near future is hardly a prophesy.

what wow. false prophets who should die are the ones who say they speak for God. Those who say the end is what evr and it is not so false Prophets are every one saying I know

Nope, but their computer is.

Maybe we should burn all the computers then.

They are not predicting the future from their own imaginations or from consulting the devil; they are just reading the signs. Even the disciples, as fishermen, looked to the sky and could tell what would happen by the signs. Matthew 16:1-3 shows that this was a common practice in Jesus' time. He simply encourages us to not only think about the weather, but about His soon coming and the signs that we see to point to that as well (MAtthew 24)

I think we can give them a little leeway since all they really do is watch storm systems advance across continents and then tell when they'll hit. Anyone could "predict" the weather if they just had the satellite images.

The weather forecasters are predicting the future but aren't giving prophecies. They are simply using known information to give the best indication of what might happen in the next few days.

Would it be predicting the future or giving prophecy for a person to say "I will be at your house on New Years Eve." This is a prediction since the person doesn't have any idea of what might happen in the future.

Capital punishment should by allowed for people like you, that do not know an iota of what they are mumbling about, it’s called science nincompoop

Not here it can't be matey!......if the degree of accuracy that the Australian Weather Bureau displays, I believe it would be in contravention of the Trades descriptions Act to term it Predicting the Future.

I honestly believe that someone has embezzled all the money meant to be spent on satellites and telescopes...and they lick their finger and stick it out the window each morning...and take a stab at it.
