Ares I and the first stage motor?

Ok, so the test program for "Ares I" will be running its test for the first stage motor on Aug 27th. The heat generated will be 2/3rds that of the sun..that is some serious heat. So my question is..should there be any after effects of the test? ground melting?

This motor is one like in the solid fuel boosters on each side of the Space Shuttle liquid fuel tank. Tests done on those boosters in the past went without a hitch. The motor is on its side when fired.
