Ananova:
Artist to eat corgi

An artist is launching a protest against the Royal Family - by eating a corgi.

Mark McGowan, 37, will eat one of the Queen's favourite breed of dog on a live radio show, reports the Sun.

The artist, who once ate a swan in a performance art show, said it was in protest at the Royals' treatment of animals.

He said: "I'm raising awareness at the inability of the RSPCA to prosecute Prince Philip and his friends for shooting a fox this year. It was left to fight for life for five minutes then beaten to death."

The corgi, which died at a breeding farm last week, will be served up on London's 104.4 Resonance FM on May 29.

But RSPCA chiefs blasted the stunt. A spokeswoman said: "If the dog's dead he's free to eat it.

"But we did look at the incident with Prince Philip and decided no offence was committed. I'd suggest Mr McGowan try a private prosecution."

McGowan, of Peckham, South London, once pushed a peanut to Downing Street using just his nose.

Ok,so I often find myself defending art,but there is no chance I will defend this clown! It's all very well making a statement, but come on........................ I know the dog may be dead anyway but still

I'm more interested in this stunt where he pushed a peanut to Downing Street with his nose. I'm going to have to look that one up.

I wonder how many news articles in the world would suddenly make sense if you replaced "artist" with "nutter".

Artists are mentalists, I should know (apart from being one myself once) after working with many!

Why would you think someone called Mark McGowan is Japanese?

He ate the corgi meat minced, with apple, onion and seasoning.

whats the big deal about eating dog? Whys it any different than any other animal, ok, eating someones pet dog might be considered a bit rude, but then so would eating someones pet rabbit..

I'd eat dog, as long as it was reared in a reasonable and healthy (happy) way and slaughtered as humanely as possible - same as any other animal (with the exception of endangered species, and even then its a grey area)

I object to fox hunting as it is unnessecary and cruel (inhuman way of killing foxes) what does eating a well reared, humanely killed (well it died of natural causes, pretty humane if you ask me) corgi have to do with anything?

The guys an idiot.

Um...I disagree he's an idiot.

He did it for publicity and to get people talking about fox hunting etc.

I'd say...mission accomplished!.
