an oath in Gods name. Hmmm. I may be alittle off base here but is sounds like making a covenant with god. Google on what a covenant with god means and maybe it will shine some light on what kind of oath you are taking with someone.
The bible says you are not to swear or take an oath before any man.
And never swear before god. Jesus wiped away all swearing!! It is in the bible, seek it!!
