in a world where darkness and evil reign, how can we, as Christians, shine with Christ's light?

Become truly born again by the water and the Spirit. Once you meet this original gospel then all the sins in your heart will be blotted out forever. Then only can the Holy Spirit enter there in. He is holy and cannot and will not enter a heart that still has sin. Now you can arise and shine.

Without this true gospel you can only shine darkness.

By our actions in trying to live like a life like Christ.

We ask God to guide us in our lives and we do good deeds to all people no matter who they are, even if they are your enemy and you disagree with their lifestyle. As a Christian, we need to truly love all people, including people who hate us, pepole who believe in different religions, homosexuals, pepole of all race, culture, creed, and different ideas of thought.

We don't judge or discriminate especially in our time where homosexuals are continously being shunned by the Christian majority. Anyone who deviates from Christianity should be dealt with between the individual and God, ont by our judgemental character.

Again, it is not our role to judge, our role is to love. We allow God to show humanity and compassion by his presence and his presence through us. If we stop judging others and focus on attaining true spiritual relationship with God, we can then truly shine Christ's light to all people.

By obedience and setting a good Christ like example, then your good works will shine out for all to see.

Matthew 5
16Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in Heaven.

By being coureous and kind with everyone you meet, not only with your fellow Christians. You don't need to preach with your mouth and tell everyone how good Christ is. Show them with your actions. If Christ acts through you, then act in good faith towards others. Be kind, respectful, courteous, such as when you drive, use your turn signals, don't act like you're entitled and everyone must be submissive to you, in short, just be a kind, courteous human being.

Matt 5:38-42, "Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth: But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also. And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have [thy] cloak also. And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain. Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away."

What is the worst they can do? Kill us? We'll be eternal, the same to them if they repent their evil.

1Cor.14:34-35 Let your Alan Alda keep silence in the 4077: for it is not permitted unto him to speak; but he is commanded to be under obedience as also saith the law.

35 And if he will learn any thing, let him ask his Hot Lips at home: for it is a shame for Alan Alda to speak in the church.

I have to say I love these questions because there are a lot of people who think we have to preach Gods word and that simply is not true. The fact of the matter is if you live your life as a Christian have a strong faith and simply enjoy following Gods rule. You already are doing it. I have been going to church my entire life same little church for almost 21 years. When i was in high school I turned my back on God because I was angry with him. I guess I was kind of like a little kid giving the silent treatment. I went to church sometimes and simply to make my family happy. People would come up to me and say something along the lines of Jesus loves you and I do to... if you ever need anyone to talk to I am here. and honestly that was the most annoying thing ever. And all the atheists I know will say the same thing. I may not have deeply affected many peoples lives but I have a few simply by being happy and caring about people. One of my friends in middle school and high school had never been to church before I invited her once and told her if she ever wanted to come again to get a hold of me. And left it at that I never asked her again. Not that I didn't want her there but because I wanted her to choose that path for herself. I didn't want her to come simply because of me. Well weeks turned into months and about 6 months later she invited me to a youth group at a different church. We get there and she turns to the youth pastor and proudly tells him "This is the girl that got me into the whole God thing" I asked her about it later b/c for 6 months we hadn't spoken a word about it. she simply said " I spent a lot of time thinking and trying to figure out why you were so happy and what you had that I didn't... Then I realized It was God!" We never talked about it again and I don't take credit for it God used me as a tool to get her interested in church and God. But that made me realize that its not about what you say... you can preach Gods word all you want but the person has to want it. Letting Christs light shine isn't about telling everyone god loves you or anything like that. Its showing how wonderful God is and how happy you are you have him. Because ultimately what everyone wants is happiness. And once they see that then you can preach but before that well they wont hear a word your saying and most likely they'll just get annoyed
