I'm thinking about buying a new phone, and I want one that will allow me to surf the internet. I was wondering if for the AT&T phones that say they have internet, you need to pay a fee to get on the internet. I know that with Wi-Fi you wouldn't have to pay if you connect through a wi-fi network, but it seems that most AT&T phones have moved on the the apparently superior 3G. I was wondering whether or not you need to pay (an additional fee) to get on the internet with 3G, if u can connect to Wi-Fi networks with 3G phones, and any phone suggestions that can access the internet without monthly fees (even if a wi-fi network is required to do so). Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. (PS, I'm not interested in the iPhone, and would prefer something cheaper).
