someone came up to me and said thank god i was able to get that done, After a while i said thank batman i was able to get that done and he looked at me stupid and i said oh i thought we were thanking fictional super heroes
OK first of all i wouldn't have said that if the person hadn't been trying to get me to convert to christianity after i politely said i don't believe in god. the person later said i was going to burn in hell then they wouldn't shut up about god this jesus that so i decided to be a jerk

naw. It's a habit. I even say it sometimes by accident
 
I say "thank god" a lot. It is simply a figure of speech which is why the someone looked at you as if you'd lost your marbles.
 
Nice dood! After that you should've summoned god's powers and smited him with lightning! That would have taught him a lesson! Hahaha
 
I don't usually answer questions directed to others but I had to make an exception this time.

So the man made a statement, and you feel that when you belittled his speech and facial expression and then continued on with a belittling of his beliefs you believe yourself to be exceptionally intelligent and humorous to come here and relate this story making yourself out to be quite the sagacious one, uh is that it?

Interesting that your personal beliefs manifest in this way, you know the oxymoronic way. ;)
 
Assuming for one second that is actually is a real anecdote - you sound like a dick.
