Atheists, I hear complaints about Christians who try to shove their

I live in Toronto. Aside from this forum, I don't really get preached to.

Partly because I don't associate with those people because we have nothing in common, but for the few that I do, only one (my ex-boyfriend) has preached to me. Others have been very kind and open minded and we had very interesting and deep discussions.
 
I think your all under horrible conviction and trying to hide from it. You just can't stand to have anyone mention God to you. Especially Jesus. It's like someone with fingernails scratching a chalk board. But you are running in the wrong direction try running to him instead of away from him. I have to apologize (Not really) i'm a bit mischievous. If i know the name Jesus bothers you then i have a button to push, the Jesus button and anytime i want to here you squeal i just push your button.... And so the name Gods problem child. One of these days he's gonna grab me by the ear and say "come on son leave the unbelievers alone." :)
 
when religious groups get together and try to change laws in my government based on "god's will" i have a major problem.


a week doesn't go by where i don't hear that we must pray to god to help us through these tough times. but instead of telling them what i really think i just nod or play along. that's not a road i want to go down.
 
Example: Pledge of Allegiance (with "under god" addition)(US)
Example: Any denomination of coin or paper currency that says "in god we trust"(US)
Example: Swearing to tell the truth on a bible in court. (US)

Those are just 3 examples. Get rid of those and I'll quit complaining about it.
