Atheists..If Bible Prophecy was rightly predicting the future?

probably not. just because something happens that can be compared to a prophecy doesn't mean the prophecy came true.

not at all...for alot of us seeing is beliving to others they just dont want to fit in so they say they dont belive in god (teenagers)...but for me personaly they just got a lucky guess and thats score 1 for the christians...but wee have alot more than 1 point...like where could heaven be located?...how could we get there when we die?...and why would you go if you died if you didn't want to if you were good dont you think god would put you where you want to be?

Since chances are it will rain somewhere in the world, my "prophecy" is correct. The Biblical prophecies are the same way they "predict" common events such as wars, famines, and natural disasters or they "predict" things that have never been proven or haven't happened yet.

Will you stop believing in god because of that?

depends. is it going to tell me the exact date and time, and all the people involved? or is it just going to vaguely allude to something that might happen in the future if this guy happens to be here around this time?

because so far all the bibles prophecies have been nothing more than vague allusions

The operative word is IF. It has not occurred yet and is not likely to.

If there was clear evidence for God's existence, sure I'd believe that he existed.. But that wouldn't be enough to make me worship him.. And his existence doesn't make everything about him correct, or denounce what we've discovered as being false.

If what the bible said about the future was true, it may increase the chances of Gods existence but it could also be a very far-fetched coincidence. I'd have to see him in front of my eyes, and even then it could just be the result of a drug trip.

I know believers look down their nose at atheists as not being open minded, but why would you be expected to believe something without full evidence? The claim for God is extraordinary.. Needs some pretty amazing proof.. A lot of people don't accept the theory of evolution when in fact there's more evidence for it than the theory of gravity.. With religion there's blatant double standards.

I need some examples. I am highly dubious of claims that the Bible accurately "predicted" specific events. My guess is that the "prophecies" are fairly vague.

Show me a clear, unquestionable prophecy first and we'll talk...vague claptrap that can be interpreted to fit events as desired don't qualify.

There are no true prophecies in the Bible.

Why should I rely on the written word of man when a God such as the one described in the Bible supposedly has the power to reveal himself? If God exists he would not rely on some ancient text to reveal himself because that would be downright stupid.

we haven't seen the future.. so we don't have a measure to check if it is right or wrong.. and if I am in the future already, then it's too late..
Although I am not an atheist, but this question doesn't look like that it has been thought over carefully..
