I want to attach an electric motor to my bicycle, but I'm not sure how to go about doing that. My best idea would be to buy and electric motor, and mount it to my bike and attach it with a chain to the gear. I need ideas on how to get started, what to do, and just recommendations.
And my motor option are 24 36 48 60 volt motors, I'm wondering if they would output enough power to move about 150 pounds on a bike.

i recommend u to use a 36 volt motor as this will be enough to run a bicycle......u will then have to use 20Ah or 33Ah batteries with it depending upon the running time u need....
for fitting i would recommend u to buy a hub motor and customize the spokes to make a wheel yourself....however fully manufactured wheel is also available but then it would cost u much more....u'll have to attach this to the rear wheel of ur bicycle....
for hub motor u can log on to www.goldenmotor.com. but they are a bit costly according to me but u will surely get an idea about how to do this from there...
