Audi A4 1.8T Question ?

I just bought an 2002 Audi A4 1.8T wih 70,000 miles and was wondering why does the car guide / mannual says to do an oil change evry 10,000 miles ?

I thought an oil change is performed every 3months or 3,000 miles.

Any help would be greatly apperciated. Thanks !
