Alright Audiophiles, simple situation, you only have three nobs to turn (or adjust):

- 2.1 speakers overall sound
- the bass for the 2.1 speakers
- computer volume

Let's say your listening to music or watching a movie... how much do you turn up the overall sound of the 2.1 speakers, the bass and the windows computer volume?

100% means all the way.

They all can't be 100%, which ones provide better sound.

I guess R said it all.

You can adjust the sound using the EQ according to your taste, one thing to remember is that you should not any frequency loud (+dB) but only down, so basically reducing the highs and mids is the same as boosting the bass, but you won't get distortion.
The volume doesn't matter, just remember first turn up the volume in the computer, when its on 100% and still not loud enough than turn the volume of the speakers.
Because if the speaker is connected to the computer with analog cables, than it just magnify the signal from the computer's sound card, so it might cause distortion.
