What are some connections between the Aztec religion and beliefs and their worldview?

ONLY RELIGION AND BELIEFS PLEASE.
 
I am listing two sources below that you might find interesting.

It is not known exactly from where the Aztecs drew their Knowledge and rituals, but in both resources listed, it is suggested that they were the direct descendants of those who inhabited Atlantis.

A great deal of Knowledge is possessed by those who are able to rise within themselves to the Spirituality within themselves, and one might conclude that there were such Souls in Atlantis at some point?

If this was the case, then the "world view" would have been quite different at one point than at the point where their rituals had descended and are interpreted by history.

The Aztecs believed that the sun god needed the hearts and blood of human beings to rise the next day. They believed that if the sun god didn't receive the hearts of the captives that they sacrificed to him, that all life would come to a halt, and the world would be destroyed.
