They teach baby publicists in PR kindergarten to personalize media pitches, maybe refer to an earlier article, even apply a little flattery. Melanie from Porter Novelli was a diligent student, I'm sure. But what possible connection can there be between a Valleywag list of the seven most annoying things about the future, and her client, HP? Ah, HP's new imaging and printing products are "a huge assistant to the future." Now that's annoying. Melanie's improbable HP pitch, after the jump.
Hi Nick,

I read your post about the seven most annoying things about the future, and I thought that you might be interested in seeing this news, as it relates to the Web 2.0 movement - what I believe to be a huge assistant to the future.

Today HP kicked off the summer season by introducing several imaging and printing products - including nine feature-rich digital cameras, two single-function Photosmart printers and an all-in-one Photosmart printer - all designed to enable people to make the most of summer memories. Key highlights of this launch include a digital camera with the largest touchscreen LCD display of any compact digital camera in the industry; single-function printers that offer the fastest and easiest way to print lab-quality photos at home; and an all-in-one printer that can print customized directly onto CDs and DVDs.

Recognizing the value of the Web in engaging customers in conversation, HP is also kicking off a new blog today aimed at covering topics relative to inkjet printing in the home and office. To check it out, visit www.hp.com/blogs/inkjet.

If you are interested in receiving additional information on the products announced today including fact sheets and images, please visit http://www.hp.com/go/SummerImagingLaunch2007.

Best regards,

Melanie
