How many verses does a child typically read for the bar/bat mitzvah? I am tutoring for 2 bat mitzvahs for the very first time. I am fluent in Hebrew and know trope. However, these parents do not belong to a synagogue and I am to decide everything for them. It's a daunting task as I've never done this before. So, in chosing how many verses are going to be chanted, I know that bar/bat mitzvahs (especially reformed ones, such as these will be) are not cookie-cutter. But if you could give me at least a range to go on (as to how many are typically read in a reformed service), that would be great. Thanks in advance!
