...do you Yankees fans love the irony? Don't we have a ''new'' conspiracy swirling about A-Rod 14 months later? Maybe the guy who wrote this article knew more than we did lolThe one thing I love about the internet is you can find articles from the passed on Google at the snap of your fingers. I love analyzing stuff from the recent past and comparing it to present day too.January 15, 2008 is when this article was written. Probably the same time when people thought A-Rod endorsed Rudy Giuliani had a chance to be president placing all of his ''eggs'' in Florida lol What I consider most ironic about it is, nearly 14 months later, people are talking about a supposed Bud Selig-Alex Rodriguez ''conspiracy theory?'' It reads the same as the subtitles on the top of this heading.
This A-Rod saga could never end. He'll be the top story even when he doesn't play. Forget Madonna and that last season. First, the ''A-Fraud'' in Joe Torre's book. A week later, he's a steroid user. Than his cousin ''injecting him.'' Than he leaves ST with his cousin. Than he finds out he may need hip surgery. For as great of a player as he is, was he worth the trouble of giving a 10 year contract? Why did they give him a 10 year contract anyway? Who else was competing for him last season? Doesn't anyone remember Brian Cashman saying ''We won't negotiate if he opts out.'' Well, Tom Hicks could forgive A-Rod for his ''under the cover steroids'', because he saved him 21 million. It's just business. They practically bid against themselves for him. It wouldn't have shocked me last off-season if people ''Mannied'' him.
