Do you think the NBA should/would ever raise the height of the rim? 10 feet was good for the 50's...however with people as a whole getting more athletic with each generation and having most NBA players able to jump out of the gym, wouldn't it be better to raise it a bit? I would almost guarantee, although I have no proof of it, that every single player in the NBA can dunk. With that said...that's not how it was in the old NBA days. I know there will be alot of arguments about how dumb it would be to raise the rim...but think about 75 years from now when you'll have 7 foot tall point guards and everybody has a 50 inch vertical. Haha, seems ridiculous now...but if you would've said 50 years ago that there would be 6'8 point guards with 40 inch verts...people would've thought you were crazy too. But what do you guys think?
As I stated...50 years ago people would've laughed that there would be 6'8 players with 40 inch verticals. I'm talking 75 years from now there will be those types of players, not tomorrow. How many 7'5 players were playing in the 50's? Zero. They play now though. As for the middle school thing....i coach middle schoolers with basketball. Some can dunk...which is what brought me to this question to begin with. There's no way a middle schooler should be dunking on the same goal that an NBA player plays on.
