I've some questions. I'm in RCIA but having a conflict of conscience. I do respect and admire the Church. I want to follow Christ as close and best I can and I believe the Church provides the tools. I'm wondering
Why is it that my baptism (which was in pentecostal church in name of Jesus) is not valid? What is difference between baptism in name of Father Son, Holy Spirit, and in name of Christ?
Also are protestants condemed? their baptisms invalid?
Some friends tell me of 'scandals' within the church from mafia connections to horribly disrespectful rumors of the late Pope John Paul II, who did much good in his life and you cannot convince me otherwise. Anyways, actions of an individual or others do not reflect the teachings of the Church, yet it seems outsiders wish it to be so. How do we address this?
Am I the only one who feels the inner conflict as Catholic and hearing these things?
