What did people do religious wise. did the people get reincarnated in order to receive the word to be judged? Cuz it says in the bible people had to go through Christ in order to get to heaven.

like Africans, indigenous, and Chinese cultures bc.

i have alot of questions about Christianity. im a hard headed 20 year old lol. but i definately wanna learn the ways of christ :-)
 
The Bible says that it was through faith that the old testament followers of God were saved, i.e. Adam, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, David, etc. God had promised the coming of Jesus from the moment sin entered the world, so those that loved God and had a personal relationship with Him were holding to the same promise before it happened as Christians do now that it has happened. But there are only 3 people in heaven right now: Enoch, Elijah, and Moses--all of whom did not die but were taken directly to heaven. The bible says that the rest who have died are in the grave, and will be resurrected into a new creation on the last day when Christ returns.
 
No they did not get reincarnated. God first had them sacrifice a lamb to him. It acted as a temporary relief and forgiveness to the people. He had them do this every year until Christ came. That is why Christ is referred to as a LAMB of God. or the perfect sacrifice.
 
They had to sacrifice a lamb to God. The sacrifice of Jesus was also for the people of the past who were loyal to God. The sinners who worshiped idols are just as dead as the God-haters of today.
 
first of all this better not be aaron meaux (cuz thats my buddy), second yeah i wonder that all the time too. Relegion and a thought of heaven (or something after death) has really taken off in the past 2000 years since christ's arrival but before that all those people wondering the jungles and those even before them who were hunting alongside wild animals to survive, i wonder what they were all about from the perspective of god and life.
 
Jesus never claimed divinity for himself. He clearly announced the nature of his mission. Jesus was sent by God to confirm the previous Judaic law. This is clearly evident in the following statements attributed to Jesus in the Gospel of Mathew:

"Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the Prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
"Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven; but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven."
"For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven."[The Bible, Mathew 5:17-20]

Jesus did not say that to have the eternal life of paradise, man should believe in him as Almighty God or worship him as God, or believe that Jesus would die for his sins. On the contrary he said that the path to salvation was through keeping the commandments. It is indeed striking to note the difference between the words of Jesus Christ and the Christian dogma of salvation through the sacrifice of Jesus.
 
Those before Jesus, needed to look ahead believing in the promise of the coming of the Messiah to save. JESUS is the Messiah! And as the Old Testament says, there were people who believed in all wide variety of places around the world in all nations, for example, the Queen of Sheba (Ethiopia) knew about the Lord due to Solomon.

Today, we MUST believe in the Name of JESUS to be saved, Acts 4:12, John 14:6. And of course, each language has their version of the Name of Jesus. :) All versions of the Name of Jesus still understand that Jesus, who is God, died on the cross for our sins, and then Jesus rose from the dead!

Jesus is God, and Jesus loves you so very much! :D And the Trinity is true!

The truth about Jesus is that the only way to be saved and to get into heaven and avoid being sent to hell, is by believing in Jesus for His free gift of salvation, believing in faith alone that Jesus, who is God, died on the cross for all our sins as FULL PAYMENT for all our sins, and then Jesus rose from the dead (1 Corinthians 15:1-4). Believe in Jesus for His free gift of salvation, and you will be in heaven, no matter what!

Salvation is a FREE GIFT that happens in a split second when you believe in JESUS for His free gift of salvation! It is impossible to lose or "leave" salvation (John 6:39-40, John 10:28, 1 John 5:13).

Please pray now: "Jesus, I believe that You died on the cross to pay for my sins and that You rose from the dead, and I thank You for eternal life!" You will be in heaven with Him forever when you die! :D
 
People had different religions. They still do. Most of them are the best efforts of good leaders to educate their flocks, and improve their lives. Most say roughly the same thing. Some are older than others, some are more modern and free than others. Often the people who led the religions after the first ones didn't understand as well as they should have, and focussed on the words rather than the meanings. A few religions were downright bad, like the Aztecs (?) who slaughtered people for their "gods".
 
Whenever Christ died, it was for the souls of everyone, past, present, and future. So my theory is, until that point, all the people that died were just that: dead (with a few notable exceptions such as Enoch and Elijah of course). His salvation then allowed their souls into heaven.
