Beginner chic using torrents here... can you help me pretty please?

I am so new at this! I downloaded a torrent using uTorrent and it's an .exe file. It's a computer game and I can't remotely get it to work. I click on the install and a black box comes up then disappears. Do I have to have a crack too or something? Please help me, I'm not a computer genius but I know I can figure this out! Thanks so much! :x
 
is that the only file that came with the torrent? you have to be careful with what you download. one way is to check on the comments people usually leave on the download page, to be super safe you should only download files that people have been saying good things about.

there is usually a readme file in the torrent folder..usually .nfo files. you can open these with wordpad or notepad and they contain info on how to install, usually.

if the torrent is nothing but an .exe file that doesnt work, then consider yourself infected with a virus. im sorry to say.. if this is the case then please run a virus scan immediately. it is a truth though, people do publish torrent viruses. be careful
