bell express view remote stuck on vcr setting?

this has been going on for a long time now... i can't get the remote to come off of the vcr setting. i press the sat button, but nothing happens. i can still get the very basic Satellitee functions like guide and pg up and dn and the numbers, but it is really annoying. i think one time it started to magically work again somehow. but its back on the vcr setting again.the vcr led turns on when i press the buttons, but not when i press the vcr button. it's really weird. could there be a burned out component in the remote, or a short somewhere or something? would Bell give me a new remote for free?
is this fixable? let me know.

Fixed it

HAppened to me, stuck on TV - removed batteries, pried it open with small flat screw driver (carefully) removed rubber membrane that makes up the buttons, washed it thoroughly. wiped residue from top side of circuit board. Dried everything really well, put it back together. Presto Chango - IT WORKS.
