I don't want a full size SUV (Yukon, Sequoia, etc). We want one a size smaller (4runner, pathfinder, etc) that can accommodate 3 growing boys and Mom and Dad. Our off roading consists of frequent mountain trips that include creek crossings and a few steep climbs and descents over rough rutted terrain.
This will also be our road trip car, 4 - 10 hour summer adventures on highways.
Do the third rows in the smaller size SUVs actually work for kids?
A Tahoe is a full size SUV (exact same as the Yukon) - we prefer a midsize to save a few mpg and not be so obtrusive. I also need an option that doesn't include lifting or adding larger tires...that's just silly.
