I'm a 15 year old girl looking for a starter bike for racing. I already have consent from my dad so no worries there. :) I'm 5'6 and about 160lbs. I can handle my dad's Interceptor pretty well, weight wise, but definatley looking for something lighter. I've heard nothing but good things about the ninja 250r, but nothing concerning a young rider. Any ideas? Not exactly going for hard street ware here, obviously. :D
Edit: ha ha thanks, guys! That's a lot of great advice.I've ridden a two-stroke before as well. It's a '9...7? Honda CR500 with the chassy of a track bike that I can't quite remember the model, and it's killing me! Anyway, if anything, I'm actually more accustomed To riding an older bike, but god only knows how long that thing'll last. It's nicknamed the 'boneshaker' for a reason. Currently working on balancing the crankshaft.

ninja 250 is reasonably good for the track.. so would the CBR250.

of course it all depends on what class of racing your thinking of entering...

some of the older 250cc 2 stroke bikes are great race bikes as well...

Okay, you know a little about how to ride a motorbike, good!
The 250 Ninja should fit you fine and I have only one thing to add that Guardrail missed - a motorcycle safety course (MSF).
It'll teach you a bit more, really help out on your insurance costs probably saving the cost of the course in a two or three year time period plus you don't need to take a driving part for your license, just the written.
