I have already tried the regedit thing where I delete upper and lower.
I am using a Sony VAIO FZ 18G with Blu-ray burner. Recently, my cd drive has ceased showing itself in my computer and is not even detected in device manager. Windows Vista has not shown any errors so far and the cd drive still can open and close, so it's obviously not a power issue. Whenever I place a dvd inside, it just runs (as in I can hear the drive working), but the computer does not respond. The problem is hampering my ability to not only burn CD's but also read them entirely. I would gladly appreciate any help. Thank you very much.
