Could any technician clarify which is the better buy of these two options, please?Replacing a VCR and like the idea of a Hard Drive recorder,is the picture and sound quality comparable with the new DVD range.
Like to have a qualified opinion before spending big bucks!

It entirely depends on what you want it for.
If you want it on disk then obviously go for the blue-ray (as hdd has been wiped out) or if you want it just to watch, they both should have the same quality of recording but the only difference is the hard drived recorder will hold more, but the blue-ray is portable.
Hope this helps.

look Woody try to keep this in mind that the Hard drive TV recorders will be something from the mid-evil ages soon. and if u buy it now u ll see all ur Friends later have the Blu-ray DVD

Blu-ray DVD is much better, smaller, and it has more capacity

I would get a DVR from your cable/satallite company, u don`t have to pay much only a month fee (about $5-10) i have it, its awsome u don`t need to buy one
