Books/Movies with the themes of survival and Racism/prejudice?

For a college project I have to compare the themes from three books and two movies . I've chosen 'Schindler's List' by Steven Spielberg as one of my movies and I want to focus on the themes "The importance of survival" and "Racism/Prejudice" but I'm not sure what to compare it to. Does anyone know of any other books and Movies that include these themes.
The books/movies i compare to Schindler's List don't have to be about the holocaust they just have to have the two themes from above in them.
