Bose sound dock and a Samsung Galaxy S?

I have a 7 or 8 year old i-pod which is deceased. As I think the Android operating system on a Samsung Galaxy S is better than the i-phone (not to mention a whole lot cheaper!) does anyone know if it is compatible with my sound dock, either with or without an adapter, Thanks.
