My boss and I do not have a friendly history. We act professional and civil to each other but we do not generally go well together-always debating and arguing. Well, now he tells me that he wants to talk to me about "something" he "caught" me doing using the security cameras. I already know it is going to be something nitpicky since I haven't done any kind of crime or serious mischief, maybe just drank soda in front of a customer or something petty (I work at a theatre). I see stupid stuff done all the time by other people yet my boss doesn't go out looking for them on the cameras. But he does for me!! I can't stand it, every little thing I do will be reviewed with a microscope using the cameras while my boss flat out refuses to examine the camera for anyone else. If I were to tell him it's not fair and he should look at other people, he'd tell me that is not my business what other people do. What can I argue that would convince him how rediculous he is being!!?!? I even caught the janitors of all people stealing merchandise a while back, clearly on camera, and he STILL has yet to care--this was months ago. Yet to catch me doing something victimless and petty he'd bend over backwards.

You are not going to out-argue any boss, ever. That notion is a non-starter - anywhere you ever work. Stop drinking in front of customers. Do your job properly or find another one.

You are not in charge, so what the other employees do and how the boss treats or disciplines them is none of your business. Contrary to Twit, it probably does not constitute discrimination, and thus would not be actionable.
