The Los Angeles Dodgers were able to boost their bullpen by acquiring Brandon League from the Seattle Mariners. In exchange for League, the Mariners received a pair of minor leaguers: hurler Logan Bawcom and outfielder Leon Landry.

Last season, League was great. He sported an ERA of 2.79 and had 37 saves. This season, he hasn’t been quite as good. He has a 3.63 ERA to go with only nine saves and six blown saves. He’s given up 48 hits and 19 walks in only 44.2 innings.

Don Mattingly, manager for the Dodgers, was excited about adding League to his team’s roster.

Said Mattingly: “I know him from the American League and he’s dirty. This is a good arm.”

League won’t be the closer in Los Angeles but he’ll add some much needed depth.
