Our son is now three weeks old. We have been exclusively breastfeeding since birth, and now we are heading out of town just for Saturday and coming back Sunday. This vacation was a present given to use today. It's great and all, but her parents are watching him for that day/night and now we do not know what to do about milk.... I bought a pump but there's just not enough time to get enough milk. Is it okay to bottle feed for just one day and then come back to breastfeed? The package is $2,000 so it'd be really hard to cancel.
Honestly, we're talking about a $2,000 trip for one day, and there are a lot of parents that don't even breastfeed at all. I know the baby will take bottle because we had to bottle feed him a few days in hospital, and she pumps sometimes so I can help out and feed him breast milk with the bottle. He already has tummy troubles because his mother has some sort of yeast infection on her nipple.

I'm going to say no. I went away when my twins were 3 months old and I was having a hard time at that and we went for 3 days. If you DO go you must pump to keep your supply up every 2-4 hours. Otherwise your supply will dip possibly quite a lot.

Your poor little baby will likely have tummy trouble if you give him or her formula even for the couple of days. For many it takes them a while to get used to formula if they are breastfed. Plus, does the baby even take a bottle for sure?

Is there any way you can postpone the trip until later? Honestly, I think that baby's needs are greater in this situation.

edit: true, but breastfeeding is an amazing gift worth far more than $2000!

I would try finding goats milk for your little one, it closer resembles human breast milk than formula. It will not upset your baby's tummy like regular formula can. And of course remember to pump while you are away.
