Brought a new laptop, how do i connect it to the internet?

i have a desktop in my room aswell and its internet connection is broadband.

i was wondering how to connect my new laptop i brought to the internet. i have never owned a laptop before so im not firmilar with this.

so step by step would help, i live in the UK btw. Thanks
i want my laptop wireless
