Buy a Nissan Sentra spec v with an engine known for failing?

I am looking at buying a sentra with a qr25de engine, and it's known for having problems with oil consumption, and was wondering if it will be worth the risk, the car is 2004 and it has 96000 miles. He said he has the headers replaced, and hasn't had any problems with it so far. It is worth the risk?
 
i say no. specifically because i had a friend who got a used spec v, including the problems you speak of. it drove him crazy and he ended up taking a huge loss on it just to get rid of it.

idk what price range you are looking at, but i would def consider somthing similar to civic Si, 05 corrolla XRS, etc. they should be around same price for same condition as the spec V you are looking at, and instead of being know for problems, they are know for their reliability.
