Buy a used iPhone and use it with my actual contract?

So, I have a 3 years contract with Rogers on my LG pop with SIM card. I was wondering if buy a used unlocked iPhone and put my actual SIM card in it, will it still works ? Can I change my phone just by putting my SIM in the new one ? And I was wondering if I can just update my actual contract and add browsing data ?
